In February, 1988, the launch of natalie and friends' corporate showroom brought a new approach and concept to the world of children's clothing.
Multi seasonal and multi occasional clothing began to bring smiles to the faces of children as well as adults. Natalie has always carefully hand-picked the designers she found ultra talented and believed in their future together as strategic partners, building them into major collections.
"My premise is a simple marchandising-ability." "It became to disheartening to find that so many retail buyers could not visually see how exceptional my collections were."
Natalie decided that she had to make an investment in her business and open natalie and friends retail in order to showcase the very best of her talented designers and create an extraordinary shopping experience. Her unique ability to analyze, understand, forsee and merchandise is apparent to all, upon entering this entertaining environment.
March 18th 2006 celebrated the store's 3rd anniversary. Natalie has always had an entrepreneurial eye for new ways to sell. She was selected to co-host several natalie and friends segments on QVC in the mid 90's, resulting in a response that "completely exceeded our expectations."
Editors and stylists frequently call on natalie and friends for features in television shows, movies and magazines such as Life and Style, Child, Parents, American Baby, New York Times and FAO catalogue. Natalie was also responsible with clothing the children on the Cosby show and hosting several fashion shows on Good Day New York for FOX.
Natalie says she loves children, plain and simple, and that is why childrens wear is her passion. Her philosophy is that children feel good when they are wearing something special (as adults do). And speaking of special and passion, Natalie has her own line of bright colored cotton knit sweaters with amusing, cute, friendly designs such as sneakers and backpacks. The label is RAIDER POTADER, named after her beloved black lab, Raider. His photograph is featured prominently on the sweater's hang tag, with a friendly message from Natalie that "Raider Potader is intended to bring happiness into your life."
